Welcome to SC ID Scan (“SC ID Scan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of
scidscan.app, the SC ID Scan Android application, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

SC ID Scan provides tools to scan and interpret identification documents (for example, to help with age verification and extracting basic identity fields).
The Service is intended to support verification workflows, but it is not a government system and does not guarantee legal compliance or accuracy in all cases.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the authority to accept these Terms.

The Android app may request access to device features such as the camera and storage (or media library) to perform scanning functions.
You can manage app permissions in your Android settings. Some features may not work without certain permissions.
We may provide updates, patches, or new versions of the app. You agree that the Service may update automatically depending on your device settings.
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding personal information, the Privacy Policy will control for privacy-related topics.
The Service is provided as a tool and does not constitute legal advice. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will satisfy legal or regulatory requirements in any jurisdiction.
You are solely responsible for determining the legal requirements that apply to your use case.
Scan results and verification indicators can be affected by many factors (document condition, lighting, camera quality, software limitations, document variations, etc.).
The Service may produce errors, incomplete results, or false positives/negatives. You are responsible for any decisions you make based on the output.
The Service, including its software, designs, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by SC ID Scan or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
The Service may rely on or integrate with third-party services (for example, platform services provided by Google, device manufacturers, or networking providers).
We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, security, or accuracy.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including features, endpoints, or access methods.
We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available or uninterrupted.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SC ID Scan will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages,
or any loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid
(if any) for the Service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SC ID Scan from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees)
arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any law or third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or used the Service unlawfully.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service stops immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the
State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms
or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in
Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction
and venue of such courts.
